Valley Transportation Authority, San Jose, CA

In March of 1998, VenTek International was awarded a Fare Collection Equipment contract with the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) for the design & delivery of 124 Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) and a Central Data Collection System. All of the equipment was installed by 2001 and included warranty and training. An additional 33 TVMs were installed in 2004. In March 2009, VenTek Transit (formally VenTek International) was awarded a contract to replace all 157 System Controllers with new hardware, an updated Operating System and upgraded application software. In December 2009, VenTek Transit was awarded a contract to upgrade all 157 of VTA’s TVMs for the Bay Area’s Clipper (formally TransLink) regional smart card program. This upgrade was a complete door retrofit program including a 15 inch display, credit and PIN debit card acceptance, Clipper Contactless Reader, new ADA graphics and upgrading all Bill Acceptors to a BNA57 including service.

In March of 1998, VenTek International was awarded a Fare Collection Equipment contract with the Joint Powers Board (JPB) for the design, delivery and maintenance of 101 Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs), 4 Ticket Office Machines (TOMs) and a Central Data Collection System. All of the equipment was designed and installed in 2000 and 2001 and included maintenance, warranty and revenue collection for the first two years of operation. In 2004, VenTek International was awarded a contract to manufacture and install an additional 13 TVMs for the JPB. In 2005 and renewed in 2008, VenTek Transit was awarded a Sodeco Maintenance contract to service all of the JPB’s TVM Bill Acceptors. In 2009, VenTek Transit (formally VenTek International) was awarded a contract to replace all 114 System Controllers with new hardware, an updated Operating System and upgraded application software.

Seventy-three ProVend 1 TVMs were installed for San Diego Trolley between 1997 and 2003.
